Many city dwellers are familiar with the block wall fence. Where walls meet there are corners. Need to get a lightweight antenna up in the air? Half or your mast mount is already there!
No more twine and duct tape, this project required tools. Two half inch holes, all thread and some angle iron has me on the air in style on 6m, 2m and 70cm.
Blast a couple vertically spaced holes in a convenient block wall corner to accommodate the mast diameter. Add a bit for the angle iron that will box the mast in place. Half inch hardware holds everything together. Mast can be set in place by one person with practice.
While I did the math on mast and antenna for wind loading, I don't have a clear understanding of what it takes to knock down a block wall. If the thing falls over, the next one will be stronger and have a winch.
